The SNU-SoE invite outstanding applicants with stellar record in both research and academics in all streams(ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, CSE, Civil). The faculty position may be at Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor level. Candidates should have pleasing personality and excellent communication skills. Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant field with preferably some post-doctoral experience and should possess excellent research track record, high potential to work on inter-disciplinary projects, and with strong theoretical and analytical skills.

The successful candidate must be able to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels , supervise students at Master's and PhD levels and develop an active and significant research programme including securing research grants. Newly recruited staff members are eligible for start-up grants to facilitate the establishment of their research development in SNU without undue delay.

The level of appointment will depend on qualifications, experience and track record in the field.

School of Natural Sciences

The Shiv Nadar University-School of Natural Sciences invites applications for faculty positions in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Life Sciences at the levels of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. The School is committed to developing unique multi- and inter-disciplinary research and academic programs, and places a high priority on scientific literacy.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field with some post-doctoral experience, possess excellent research record, and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and research.

The successful candidate must be able to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise students at Masters and Ph.D. levels, develop an active and significant research program and contribute to collaborative research and teaching initiatives within and beyond the School.

Criteria for Application: Faculty members with proven research credentials required in economics, sociology, history, political science, psychology and philosophy. Candidates applying for the post of Professors and Associate Professors should have 10 years and 5 years of experience respectively in teaching and research. Assistant Professors can be fresh PhDs with some experience in teaching and research.

Center for Informatics

The Center for Informatics in the School of Natural Sciences at Shiv Nadar University, India, has several postdoctoral positions available in computational materials design and network analysis.

Research and Graduate Studies

Job Title: Associate/Assistant Dean (Research and Graduate Studies)

Associate/Assistant Dean will be responsible for promoting and coordinating research and knowledge transfer activity of the University faculty, make an active contribution to the University's vision "to be an International Research-led University" and manage and coordinate the advanced programs of study at the University.

Major Role and Responsibilities:
  • To work as a leader in the Shiv Nadar University academic administration and assist the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at the University and ensure the strongest possible submissions to the Research Excellence Framework.
  • To lead, in liaison with the Heads of Department, in the development of the portfolio of post-graduate activities across the Faculty.
  • To assist the Dean and the Heads of Departments in developing research action plans that align with the University Research Strategy.
  • To manage and coordinate the advanced programs of study that lead to the award of a Masters or Doctoral degree or Post-Graduate Diploma.
  • To develop and implement the academic and administrative policies for graduate education at the University.
  • To collaborate with the disciplinary Schools and Departments to institute, monitor and sustain University-wide standards of teaching and training of graduate scholars, and ensure that the advanced degree programs meet or exceed globally accepted standards for their field of study, including, where appropriate, maintaining accreditation or membership in professional organizations.
  • To ensure that appropriate strategies and polices are in place to enable the Faculty to recruit and retain excellent researchers.
  • To develop an active research culture that encourages originality & innovation and enriches the student learning experience. Also to implement good research practice across the Faculty.
  • To promote research links and engagement within the Faculty, across the University and with external organizations.
  • To implement University-wide strategies and policies for research and to maximize the impact of research performed within the Faculty.
  • To increase external collaborative research and knowledge transfer activity regionally, nationally and internationally.
  • To ensure consideration of any issues referred to the University Research Advisory Committee by the relevant University Committees in consultation with the Dean.
  • To ensure that research activities of the Faculty are undertaken in accordance with the governance, policy and regulatory frameworks of the University.
  • Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above position description.

Additional Roles & Responsibilities:
  • To contribute to the management and operations of the Faculty and University by undertaking specific responsibilities as agreed with the Dean.
  • To work collaboratively with other Deans and Heads of Department to establish and maintain national and international recognition of the University as a Centre of excellence in research and knowledge transfer.
  • To undertake any other activities assigned from time to time by the Vice-Chancellor or the Dean.

Essential Skills:
  • Academic and/or professional qualifications and relevant experience, which reflect the nature of the appointment.
  • Experience of leading research projects and successfully managing externally funded activities.
  • Effective management and leadership skills.
