Ph.D. - Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee in 2012.
M.Tech. (Hons.) - Instrumentation and Control Engineering from CSVTU, Bhilai in 2009.
B.E. - Electronics Engineering from Pt. RSU, Raipur in 1999.

Professional Experience
Assistant Professor (2012 - present), in the Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Engineering, Shiv Nadar University, Noida, India.
7 Years of Pre - Ph.D. experience as a Sr. Lecturer in academia.
More than a year of industry exposure in Bhilai Steel Plant (SAIL), Bhilai.

Research Interests
Industrial Automation: Applications related to Power Generation, Manufacturing industries, and Process Industries using PACs / PLCs / DCS / SCADA. Design and Development of HMI.
Sustainable Sources of Energy: Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cells, Smart Grid.
Reliability Engineering: System Reliability Optimization and Fault Tree Analysis.
Process Optimization: Mathematical modelling of dedicated processes using Soft Computing Technique.
Electrical Communication: Telemetry & Remote Control and Intelligent Sensors & Networks.

He is actively involved as a Reviewer of various international societies, such as, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, IEEE Transactions on Education; IFAC, Elsevier, and the ISA Transactions.

He is the Life Member of ISTE, India, and Member of IEEE, USA.

Dr. Biswal is also a member of IEEE Standards Association (SA) – Working Groups (WGs): IEEE P1867; IEEE 21451-001 and IEEE 1415.

MHRD fellowship by the Govt. of India for Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at IIT Roorkee.
Awarded “A” Grade (10 / 10) by all the examiners of Ph.D. thesis panel.

Executive Summary
Dr. Biswal did his Ph.D. in the area of Power Generation Automation. He is expertise in the area of Design and Development of Cooling Systems for Large Size Electrical Generators, C&I of process industries. His major areas of interests are Reduction in Emission of Green-house gases, Power System Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, Intelligent and Smart Sensors, Sustainable Sources of Energy e.g. Hydrogen and Wind Energy, and System Reliability. His current research interests are focused on Improvements in system reliability of Smart Grid Integration, Power Plant Automation and Process Optimization.

Presently, he is actively involved in review panels of different societies of international repute. He is also actively associated with the Standards Association of IEEE (IEEE – SA) as a Member. He also has credit of publishing research articles in some of the high impact factor, SCI indexed journals
