Research Interests
Dr. Sharma is a physicist by academic training and did his Ph.D. in Experimental Physics, studying properties of magnetic nano-materials. He discovered his passion towards higher education administration and students’ affairs management soon after he started his career as an Assistant Professor of Physics and he gradually shifted to the administrative side of higher education.

He is currently interested in practice of higher education policy and administration. Internationalization of higher education, role of technology in classroom learning experience and on student mobility, liberal arts based undergraduate education and its relevance in 21st Century and provision of quality higher education to large number of students with equity are few themes he is passionate working for.

Executive Summary
Dr. Sharma has been working with universities in India in different capacities of teacher, researcher & administrator since last ten years. His administrative experiences have been fairly diverse & challenging and he has had opportunities to work with established as well as start-up and public as well as private universities with significant responsibilities at his disposal.

His administrative experiences have included formulation of various academic & student welfare policies, design and development of institutional MISs, internationalization of higher education and introductions of technological tools for learning in higher educational institutions such as ERPs, Learning Management Systems, NPTEL, quasi-MOOCS etc.

To extend open educational resources to academic community, he is working as Project Coordinator at Shiv Nadar University for a collaborative research and outreach project EQUAL (Enhancing Quality, Access & Leadership in Higher Education in India), funded by the European Union.

He has received Excellence Award by Shiv Nadar University for outstanding commitment and dedication to the advancement of the University during 2011-14.
